Dermal Fillers

Skin rejuvenation includes skin peels, mesotherapy and micro-needling.  These treatments can result in improved skin conditions through skin regeneration.
Skin peels involve the application of a serum, often made up of several medical compounds, which is applied to the surface of the skin.  The purpose is to intensively exfoliate the skin by removing the outer dead skin to unveil a fresh layer of new skin.
Mesotherapy is a skin rejuvenation treatment that involves the injection of vitamins, enzymes, hormones, hyaluronic acid, and natural plant extracts to help rejuvenate skin.
Micro-needling creates small, controlled wounds to the skin which responds by filling these wounds with collagen and elastin, the natural proteins that strengthen the skin and reduce the appearance of scarring.  Micro-needling and mesotherapy are often combined.

Benefits

All skin rejuvenation treatments are intended to improve the quality of the skin. Chemical peels can be effective for cosmetic acne but should complement, and not interfere with treatment prescribed by your GP.

Side-effects

Side effects may include a burning or stinging sensation, itchiness, mild pain, bruising, redness, skin flaking, lines of demarcation where skin rejuvenation has been applied and changes in skin colour.  Deeper chemical peels phenol (carbolic acid), which can damage the heart muscle and cause the heart to beat irregularly.  Phenol can also harm the kidneys and liver.

Side-effects can range from bruising and redness to the drooping of your face which is why we strongly advise studying the longer PDF attached here to fully understand the risks. We also recommend you discuss it with your JCCP registered practitioner before any procedure. Look for your nearest one here
